The Anarchist Group Amsterdam is starting a series of collective readings and discussions at the Anarchist Library.
No prior knowledge or reading is needed to join. We’ll read a short text, zine, or pamphlet together, and we will take time to get our heads around it collectively. Afterwards, there will be space for an open discussion where everyone can share thoughts, questions, and reflections. Again, the text will be read out loud, so there is no prior knowledge or homework required.
To get started, we’ve planned the following sessions:
09.04: Anarchism and Violence by Errico Malatesta
23.04: Non Western Anarchism – Rethinking the Global Context by Jason Adams
07.05: Socialism, Anarchism & Feminism by Carol Ehrlich
14.05: Against the legalization of Occupied Spaces by El Paso Occupato and Barocchio Occupato
We will always start at 19:00 in the Infokafee Bollox (Eerste Schinkelstraat 14-16). You’re welcome to stay afterwards till late to continue discussions or simply hang out.
We’d love to grow this into a weekly event instead of a bi-weekly one. So if there’s a zine or text you’d like to read together with others, we’re happy to provide the space. To contact us, you can come by the library (every Saturday 14-18:00) or text us at aga@agamsterdam.org.
