War is not a clash of peoples, but an instrument of states and capital. We reject all wars led by governments that sacrifice lives in order to reinforce borders, empires, and hierarchies. Our solidarity isn’t with flags or armies, but with every person forced to fight, displaced by violence or resisting oppression – whether in Ukraine, Russia or beyond.
The real struggle isn’t between nations, but against authoritarianism itself. While states ask us to take sides in their nationalist conflicts, we stand with those fighting for liberation on all fronts. Soldiers conscripted into violence, civilians forced to flee, and communities organising autonomously against tyranny are all victims of the same oppressive systems.
We support Solidarity Collectives not to support war, but to extend anarchist solidarity to those defending their lives and autonomy against Russian state aggression. We act in uncertainty, aware that there are no perfect choices. Our support is not a declaration of answers, but we want to listen to comrades on the ground, trusting those facing repression at first hand to guide us in what help they need most. Our aim is to strengthen grassroots resistance everywhere: to help those struggling to survive, to undermine authoritarian power and to build connections across artificial borders.
Anarchist solidarity means opposing all state violence, while recognising that people under bombardment have the right to resist. It means listening to those on the ground, rejecting simplistic binaries, and acting in support of collective survival.
